ENOUGH OF HATE: OUR BODIES, OUR LIVES, OUR RIGHTS
From Freedom Asociación LGBT of Maspalomas, we want to raise our voices with rage, sadness, and determination in the face of the growing wave of hatred against trans people worldwide.
The brutal murder of Sara Millerey, a trans woman of only 30 years old, has deeply shaken us. Sara was the victim of an atrocious crime, motivated by the most savage transphobia. Her life, like that of so many other trans women, was taken by a system that allows—and often fuels—structural violence against those who dare to live their truth.
Adding to this tragedy are the alarming news coming from the United Kingdom, where the Government has decided that trans women will not be able to be treated in public hospitals in female wards, separating them from other women and reinforcing the narrative that they are a threat. This measure not only dehumanizes but also puts the physical and mental health of thousands of trans women at risk, denying them dignified and equal treatment.
And meanwhile, in the United States, the rights of the trans community are being dismantled at a terrifying speed. Laws that prohibit medical care for trans minors, restrictions on access to bathrooms, censorship in classrooms, and the criminalization of dissident identities are part of an orchestrated offensive that seeks to erase our existence.
These are not “opinions.” They are not “debatable.” They are direct attacks on the lives, dignity, and freedom of trans people. And we will not allow it.
We stand in solidarity with every trans person who suffers discrimination, violence, or fear. We denounce the complicity of governments, media, and discourses that fuel hatred. And we demand, louder than ever: trans people are valuable, they are worthy, and they deserve to live freely and safely.
At Maspalomas Pride by Freedom, we will continue fighting, celebrating, resisting, and creating spaces where all identities are respected and celebrated. Because there is no Pride without trans justice.
Justice for Sara. Rights for all. Freedom to be.

Su vida, como la de tantas otras mujeres trans, fue arrebatada por un sistema que permite —y muchas veces alimenta— la violencia estructural contra quienes se atreven a vivir su verdad.A esta tragedia se suman las alarmantes noticias que llegan desde Reino Unido, donde el Gobierno ha decidido que las mujeres trans no podrán ser atendidas en hospitales públicos en habitaciones femeninas, separándolas del resto de mujeres y reforzando la narrativa de que son una amenaza. Esta medida no solo deshumaniza, sino que pone en riesgo la salud física y mental de miles de mujeres trans, negándoles un trato digno e igualitario.Y mientras tanto, en Estados Unidos, los derechos del colectivo trans se están desmantelando con una velocidad aterradora. Leyes que prohíben la atención médica a menores trans, restricciones al acceso a baños, censura en las aulas y criminalización de identidades disidentes forman parte de una ofensiva orquestada que busca borrar nuestra existencia.Esto no son “opiniones”. No son “debatibles”. Son ataques directos a la vida, la dignidad y la libertad de las personas trans. Y no lo vamos a permitir.Nos solidarizamos con cada persona trans que sufre discriminación, violencia o miedo. Denunciamos la complicidad de gobiernos, medios y discursos que alimentan el odio. Y reivindicamos, más fuerte que nunca: las personas trans son valiosas, son dignas, y merecen vivir libres y seguras.En Maspalomas Pride by Freedom seguiremos luchando, celebrando, resistiendo y creando espacios donde todas las identidades sean respetadas y celebradas.
